There’s likely a baby on the way for singer Britney Spears and her partner Sam Asghari.
Spears, 40, posted a photo of a pink teacup alongside pink flowers on her Instagram on Monday, April 11. “I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back…I thought ‘Geez… what happened to my stomach???’ My husband said ‘No you’re food pregnant silly!!!’ So I got a pregnancy test…and uhhhhh well…I am having a baby,” Spears wrote in the caption. “If 2 are in there…I might just [lose] it.”
She continued to write that she wouldn’t be going out much due to paparazzi attempts to get a photo of her. She also opened up about her struggles with perinatal depression during her previous pregnancy. “It’s hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression…I have to say it is absolutely horrible,” Spears said. “Women didn’t talk about it back then…some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her…but now women talk about it everyday…thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret…This time I will be doing yoga every day !!! Spreading lots of joy and love !!!”
While fans are uncertain if the post serves as a pregnancy announcement from Spears, many have shared their congratulations. “Congratulations sis!! I’m so excited for you!! Love you!!!” Paris Hilton commented. Sarah Landry, the digital creator behind The Birds Papaya, also wrote, “SCREAMING IN JOY FOR YOU!! Congrats!!!” Mark Vincent Kaplan, the attorney for Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline, also told NBC News that Federline wishes the couple the best and a “happy, healthy pregnancy.”
Following Spears’ post, Asghari also shared an illustration of a lion, lioness and cub to his Instagram, writing in the caption, “Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect. Fatherhood is something I have always looked forward to and I don’t take lightly. It is the most important job I will ever do.”
This would be the first child for Asghari and third for Spears, who also shares two sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, with Federline.
